Team Erin wins!

The Quaama Public School Boccia Team,  were five students out of over 500 NSW public school students attending in various regions, in this year’s 2024 Boccia.

On Wednesday 6th June, we travelled to the Far South Coast regional event held in Narooma. The team was led by Tyson, (Team Captain), who did a terrific job in supporting and encouraging his teammates, as well as needing to take responsibility in making some strategic decisions regarding from where the ball would be played for the best advantage. The team played round robin games, which resulted in reaching the final against Wolumla Public School.

The final was very close with Quaama winning by 1 score! This winning result means the Quaama team will qualify for entry into the next event to be held later in the term. The students had a great day out, meeting and competing with a cheery and positive bunch of south-east students and their support staff.

We are very proud of Tyson, accepting the role as captain and being such a great support to Erin in assisting her to use the boccia ball ramp! He was also a great ambassador model for his peers, by showing how to reciprocate camaraderie with our opponents including cheering each other’s teams along and shaking each other’s hands on completion.
